Re-cut Trailers
|
It turns out that I'm not the only one who re-cuts trailers (see my
Requiem for a Dream Trailer). I recently saw 2 other great works (also called "mashup trailers").
The first one is Shining, made by Robert Ryang in October 2005.
He made The Shining appear to be a light-hearted movie about father-son bonding.
The second one is Toy Story 2: Requiem, made by
Mike Hindes. He took dialog from Requiem for a Dream (or maybe a trailer I haven't seen) and cut
video bits from Toy Story 2 to match every movement and dialog. The result is amazing. By the way, the nice song that you hear in the background
is Dirtbag (remix) by Psycraft (which is actually a cover to the
original song by
Brad Sucks).

Cronenberg's Next Projects
|
ashbrg reported this to us way back in September, on The Plasma
Pool Board. But it seems that now the rumors are confirmed.
According to sources such as Joblo,
ComingSoon.net and
The Hollywood Reporter, David Cronenberg's next movie is going
to be Maps to the Stars - an "inside Hollywood" dark drama. After that, he is
going to direct Eastern Promises for Focus Features and BBC Films - The story follows a midwife who, while investigating the
identify of a Russian girl who died during childbirth, discovers that the girl was a prostitute sold into the sex-trafficking ring. The film was scripted by
Steven Knight.
According to wetdog, the movie Maps to the Stars will be shot
later this year, followed by Eastern Promises next year.
