Soundtracks Recommendations
|
Here are some excellent soundtracks that I highly recommend:
|
The Devil's Advocate (1997)
James Newton Howard
In one of his best scores, Newton Howard mixes several very different types of music, ranging from heavy
operatic to excellent action sequences. It may take a few listens to absorb
everything, but after that you'll realize that almost all of the tracks are simply classic.

|
Dolores Claiborne (1995)
Danny Elfman
In one of his quietest scores, Elfman uses very few instruments (mainly the piano, violin and chello) to
create sad and very effective music.
The 30-minutes CD doesn't do justice to this score. There is a Composer's Personal Edition that contains over 63 minutes.

|
The Machinist (2004)
Roque Banos
Excellent score that perfectly fits the black atmosphere of this wonderful movie. Banos' music is
highly influenced by Bernard Herrmann's work and makes a great use of the Theremin.
I'll be bold enough and state that the theme is almost a rip off of Danny Elfman's end titles for
Dolores Claiborne.

|
Sideways (2004)
Rolfe Kent
Superb music for an excellent movie. Kent wrote a score that perfectly fits this road/wine comic-drama
and elevates it to new heights. Easy and fun music to listen to.
