Actor Roy Scheider Dies at 75
|
Actor Roy Scheider died Sunday in
Arkansas at age 75. He had been treated for multiple myeloma for the past 2 years. Scheider is survived by his 3 children and his second wife, actress Brenda King.
Best known for his leading role as the police chief in Jaws (1975), Scheider was nominated
for an Oscar for The French Connection (1971) and for All That Jazz (1979).
He also played in such movies as Klute (1971), Marathon Man (1976),
Jaws 2 (1978), 2010 (1984) , The Russia House (1990) and
Naked Lunch (1991).
He recently completed filming 2 movies, which are scheduled for release later this year:
Dark Honeymoon and Iron Cross.
