Cruise and Cronenberg to collaborate on new film

It seems to be official now. Variety reports that Tom Cruise is getting ready to partner with Denzel Washington in The Matarese Circle, an adaptation of the Robert Ludlum thriller, directed by David Cronenberg. The movie is currently scheduled to get into production later this year for a 2010 release. Thanks to cookie klag for this bit.

Patrick McGoohan Dead at 80

Cult actor Patrick McGoohan has passed away on Tuesday in Los Angeles after a short illness. He was 80. McGoohan first shot to fame playing the title character in cult 60's television series The Prisoner. He also appeared in David Cronenberg's Scanners. He leaves behind a wife, Joan Drummond McGoohan, three daughters, five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
